Schroth Sampler Recreations specializes in designing cross
stitch patterns and cross stitch kits. These unique needlework
patterns were inspired by 18th and 19th century cross stitch
sampler designs. Each needlework kit is sold complete
with materials authentic to the period.
The beautiful SPUN SILK, embroidery thread included with each of the cross stitch
patterns is easy to work with and has been hand dyed with historically accurate natural dyes by Cheryl Kolander, master dyer.
The fabrics included in the cross stitch kits are all pure linen. Needles, a chart, instructions and photo of the finished
sampler piece are also included.
Although
this Designer did not glean the craft of needlework at her
mother's knee, in the late 1980's, Alyce began studying the historical
art of cross stitching , using silk embroidery thread on linen fabric.
Her focus is on 18th and 19th century cross stitch samplers and show towels.
Throughout this gallery of needlework kits and cross stitch
patterns, you will be
able to peruse and appreciate the fine needlework pieces.
You will also have an opportunity to purchase cross stitch
patterns of your own, to
take part in the historical art of cross stitching, as our
ancestors did in the days gone by. If you are already a
skilled needlework artist, you will find a selection of linens
